Available is an antique English ironstone pie funnel or pie vent. The funnel is inserted into the center of the pie underneath a small hole in the pastry lid. This allows steam to escape as the pie bakes to help prevent juicy fruit and meat pies from bubbling over, and to make for a crispier crust. There is staining and crazing throughout and a tiny chip on the lip of the funnel.
