S. Maw, Son & Sons Carbolic Tooth Paste Pot
Available is a Victorian era S. Maw, Son & Sons Carbolic Tooth Paste lidded pot dating approximately 1900. S. Maw, Son & Sons dominated the consumer chemist sundries market. They manufactured toothpastes, earthenware inhalers, feeding bottles, and grooming products shipped across the British Empire. Carbolic toothpaste was a popular type of oral hygiene product used during the Victorian and Edwardian eras. It was widely marketed for its ability to deep-clean teeth, harden gums, and cure bad breath. This pot has been recovered from a Victorian dig site. There are chips along the inside rim of the base as shown in the pictures.
