Premier Vinolia Shaving Soap Lid
This is the lid only of a Premier Vinolia Shaving Soap pot. These lids originally covered pots used for solid shaving soap pucks, which were popular before modern shaving creams. This lid has brown transferware advertising. The brand was originally founded in London during the late 1880s by Blondeau et Cie. It became a heavily celebrated, premium British brand known for high-quality toiletries, including toilet soaps, baby powders, and shaving preparations. By 1900, the company was awarded a Royal Warrant as soapmakers to Queen Victoria. This lid has been recovered from a Victorian dump site.
