This is an antique Keddie's "Real Gorgona Anchovy Paste" lidded pot, likely dating from the early 1900s. Keddie Limited was an oilman, drysalter, and provision merchant company established in London in 1851. During the Victorian and Edwardian eras, oilmen and drysalters supplied various chemical items, oils, pickles, condiments, and preserved fish pastes to high-end households. This pot has been recovered from a Victorian dig site.
