Huntly Creamery Stoneware Cream Pot
Available is an antique Huntly Creamery stoneware cream pot, featuring a transfer print of a milkmaid and cow, c1890-1900. Because the health effects of consuming boron compounds were heavily debated at the time, the label includes a mandatory disclaimer stating that unpreserved cream is better suited for children and invalids. This specific style of advertising disappeared rapidly after the UK passed the Public Health Regulations, which strictly outlawed the use of boron in dairy products due to toxicity concerns.
