Available is an antique Holloway's Ointment lidded pot from the Victorian era. The design features the Greek goddess of health, Hygeia, alongside a child. Holloway's Ointment was one of the most successful "quack" medicines of the Victorian era, turning its creator into a multi-millionaire through what is widely considered a masterclass in early global advertising. Thomas Holloway mixed the first batches using his mother's pots and pans in her family kitchen. It actually contained no medicinal ingredients. This pot has chips on the rim of the lid and on the rim and edge of the base as shown in the pictures. It was recovered from a Victorian dig site.
