Hailwood's Cream Pot

Hailwood's Cream Pot

This item is an antique English stoneware dairy pot from Hailwood's Manchester Creamery, dating back to c1890-1915.  Before modern plastic and glass bottles became common, local dairies across Britain packaged their cream in these durable ceramic pots.  The dairy was founded by Anthony Hailwood, the pioneer who invented long-keeping sterilized milk in 1894.  This pot has staining and crazing, and a small hairline crack that is stable.

3" tall
Weight .29 lb.

This is a vintage/antique, pre-owned item with normal wear due to its age.
