Genuine Cumberland Brandy Flavoured Butter Crock

This crock once held Cumberland brandy flavoured butter produced by Millers of Kendal c1890s to 1910s.  It originates from Kendal, a historic market town in Cumbria (formerly part of Cumberland), England.  These jars were used by local merchants to distribute regional specialty hard sauces (like rum and brandy butter) and were designed to be reused or returned.  This piece was recovered from a Victorian dump site and is crazed.  There are three small chips in the bottom edge of the pot.

2 3/4" diameter, 3 5/8" tall
Weight .5 lb.

This is a vintage/antique, pre-owned item with normal wear due to its age.
