William Brownfield Parian Ware Jug with Pewter Hinged Lid, c1850-1871
William Brownfield Parian Ware Jug with Pewter Hinged Lid, c1850-1871
A striking William Brownfield Parian ware jug from the mid-Victorian era, circa 1850-1871. Hand-crafted stoneware features an elegant botanical scroll pattern that captures the period's love of naturalistic design. The original hinged pewter lid is both functional and charming—historically designed to protect contents from household pests, fireplace soot, and dust common in Victorian dining rooms. A genuine artifact of 19th-century domestic life and table service, perfect for collectors of English ceramics or those seeking an authentic conversation piece with real historical purpose.
