Available is an advertising ironstone pie funnel from England. These funnels, or pie chimneys, were designed to vent steam from pies while baking. This would help prevent filling from bubbling over and to support the pastry crust. It is inscribed "Richardson's China Foregate Street Chester. This funnel likely dates from the Victorian era. Some of the lettering is faint. There is a chip on the lip of the vent.
