English Ironstone Eagle Jelly Mould with Feet
Available is an English ironstone eagle jelly mould with feet. Cooks typically made gelatin-based jellies, fruit aspics, blancmanges, or flummery using these moulds. The hot liquid mixture was poured directly into the mould and placed into an ice bucket or a cold larder overnight to firmly set. They were then turned out on to platters for decorative desserts and cold dishes, transforming regular meals into impressive visual table centerpieces. c1920
