Available is a stoneware "Bee Brand" bottle. The slogan was a popular trademark used to evoke the concepts of industriousness, cleanliness, purity, and hard work. Because honeybees were widely associated with natural waxes and a tidy household, this specific transfer print was most prominently used for household furniture cream, polish, and floor paste manufactured in England during the late 19th century. The stamp at the bottom edge of the bottle shows that it was commissioned by George Skey & Co in Tamworth. Skey was preferred for his patented "Bristol glaze" which provided a smooth, hygienic finish that prevented oils and chemicals from seeping into the porous clay. No chips or cracks. This bottle was recovered from a Victorian dig site.
